FC Midtjylland to score over 1.5 goals looks like an interesting option based on their consistent attacking performances, strong away record and ability to score multiple goals against competitive Danish Superliga opposition.

Midtjylland have enjoyed an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign, remaining unbeaten in their opening ten league matches. They have recorded six victories and four draws, collecting 22 points and establishing themselves near the top of the Superliga standings.

Their attacking record provides a strong foundation for this selection. Midtjylland have scored 19 goals across ten league fixtures, averaging 1.9 goals per game.

Their recent results demonstrate considerable attacking potential. Midtjylland defeated Brøndby 4-1, recorded a 2-2 draw against FC Nordsjælland and secured a 2-1 victory against FC Copenhagen.

All three matches featured at least two goals from Midtjylland, highlighting their ability to produce multiple scoring opportunities against established Danish opposition.

Their recent European performance also provides encouragement. Midtjylland defeated Rijeka 4-1 away from home during Conference League qualification, demonstrating that they are capable of maintaining attacking productivity outside Denmark.

The away statistics are particularly relevant ahead of the trip to Viborg. Midtjylland have remained unbeaten across their opening five away league matches, recording two victories and three draws.

They have scored in every away league fixture this season, demonstrating consistent attacking production without home advantage.

However, their away scoring average of approximately 1.6 goals per match is lower than their overall attacking average, meaning a two-goal performance cannot be taken for granted.

Viborg represent a competitive opponent. They have collected 20 points from their opening ten league matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just eight.

Their defensive record is particularly important. Viborg have conceded only 0.8 goals per match on average, suggesting that they are capable of restricting opposition attacks.

Viborg have also performed strongly at home, winning four of their opening five home league matches. Their home results include a convincing 4-0 victory against FC Copenhagen and a 4-1 victory against FC Nordsjælland.

These performances demonstrate that Midtjylland face a difficult challenge despite their impressive attacking record.

Previous head-to-head meetings provide additional encouragement for a potentially high-scoring encounter. Their May 2026 meeting finished 3-3, while their December 2025 encounter also ended 3-3.

Midtjylland scored three goals in both matches, demonstrating that they have previously been capable of creating multiple opportunities against Viborg.

However, their March 2026 meeting ended 1-1, illustrating that the fixture can also produce fewer goals.

The selection requires Midtjylland to score at least twice, regardless of whether they win, draw or lose.

Results such as 1-2, 2-2 or 2-3 would therefore satisfy the market.
