Newcastle to win looks like an interesting option based on their attacking quality, recent Premier League performances and ability to produce results away from home. Newcastle travel to the Coventry Building Society Arena on Monday, 12 October 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 Danish time.

Newcastle have shown encouraging attacking form in their opening five Premier League matches, scoring 10 goals at an average of 2.0 per game. They have found the net at least twice in four of those five fixtures, demonstrating their ability to create scoring opportunities against different types of opposition.

Their recent results include an impressive 4-1 away victory against Leeds United and a 2-1 home win against Hull City. Newcastle have also recorded 2-2 draws against Liverpool and Bournemouth, showing that they can score multiple goals even against challenging opponents.

Although Newcastle have not been completely consistent, their attacking output provides a strong foundation for this selection. Their four goals away against Leeds highlight their ability to capitalise on defensive mistakes, while their victories over Leeds and Hull demonstrate that they can convert attacking superiority into three points.

Coventry's statistics provide a particularly strong argument for Newcastle. The newly promoted side have lost four of their opening five Premier League matches, conceding 10 goals and scoring just once. This gives Coventry a goal difference of -9, with an average of 2.0 goals conceded per game. They also failed to score in their first four league fixtures.

Coventry's home record is another important factor. They have lost both home matches this season, suffering a 1-0 defeat against Hull City and a heavy 5-0 defeat against Brighton. Their inability to score at home, combined with the defensive problems demonstrated against Brighton, suggests Newcastle could create several opportunities throughout the match.

The difference in attacking production is significant. Newcastle have scored 10 goals in five league matches compared with Coventry's single goal, meaning Newcastle average ten times as many goals per match. Their stronger attacking output, combined with Coventry's defensive record, provides a clear statistical argument for an away victory.

There are also squad concerns for Coventry, with Haji Wright unavailable through injury and Taiwo Awoniyi suspended. Newcastle have injury problems of their own, but the potential returns of Joelinton and Nico González could provide additional options.
