Telstar not to score in the first half looks like an interesting option based on their limited attacking production, poor scoring record and tendency to produce the majority of their goals after the interval.

Telstar have scored just five goals in their opening seven Eredivisie matches, averaging only 0.71 goals per game. They have failed to score in four of those seven fixtures, meaning they have been kept scoreless in approximately 57% of their league appearances. This reflects the difficulties Telstar have experienced in converting attacking opportunities into goals against top-flight opposition.

Their first-half scoring statistics provide even stronger support for the selection. Telstar have scored only two first-half goals across their opening seven league matches, while three of their five goals have come during the second half. Their attacking production has therefore been more effective after the interval, accounting for 60% of their total goals.

The home statistics are particularly significant. Telstar have failed to score a single first-half goal in their opening three home league matches. All three of their home goals have arrived after half-time, creating a clear statistical pattern in which the team has struggled to make an early attacking impact.

Recent results reinforce this concern. Telstar have failed to score against Ajax, FC Twente, Heerenveen and AZ Alkmaar, with their last three league matches ending 0-1, 0-0 and 0-1. Their lack of attacking efficiency and difficulty breaking down opposition defences make another goalless opening period a realistic possibility.

With Telstar averaging just 0.71 goals per game, failing to score in four of seven matches and recording no first-half goals at home, the statistics support backing them to remain scoreless before the interval. However, ADO Den Haag have conceded seven first-half goals this season, meaning their defensive record provides opportunities for Telstar and remains the main risk associated with the selection.
