Premier League Showdown: Can Arsenal Dethrone Reigning Champions Man City?

As the Premier League season heats up, fans and pundits alike are starting to wonder which team will come out on top. While Manchester City have dominated the league in recent years, Arsenal have been making waves with some impressive performances of their own. As the two teams prepare to face off, the question on everyone's minds is: can Arsenal dethrone the reigning champions? Both sides have already matched up this season as Arsenal lost at home to city in a 1-3 defeat. Currently sitting at 2nd with 4th points behind Arsenal and a game more to play, many expect the Citizens to take over Arsenal after a dominant season from the Gunners.

Man City strengths and weaknesses:

City are arguably the best team in the premier league, with top goal scorer Erling Haaland by their side. Currently sitting with 32 goals in 28 games to his name, Haaland has proven his spot in the league as the ebay striker there is. In fact, the Norwegian has been so dominant that the second in the rankings for goals scored is Harry Kane with 23.

Additionally, Manchester City have the best playmaker in Kevin De Bruyne, who currently sits with 15 assists, leading by 5 assists over Arsenal's very own Bukayo Saka with 10 assists.

Man City had gone off to a good start to the season as Haaland managed to score left and right, center and back, in each game. After a bit of a slowdown, City couldn't manage to find wins against smaller clubs like Nottingham Forest, drawing 1-1 in their first match up. The team has gone above and beyond to gain back some momentum. After being 9 points behind the top spot in early March, they are now trailing behind Arsenal.

Arsenal strengths and weaknesses:

Arsenal's biggest strength lies in Mikel Arteta who managed to make Arsenal a true contender team for years. With the addition of some players, as well as playing young talented strikers and defenders to the lineup sheet.

Gabriel Martelini has been a top scorer for Arsenal with 14 goals this season, as well as having Bukayo Saka with 13 goals, and Martin Ødegaard with 11 to his name. Unfortunately, Gabriel Jesus has not been able to fight for most of the season due to ligament injury during Brazil's world cup campaign. Fortunately for the club, Jesus came back just in time, as he scored in his first game back against West Ham within the first 7 minutes of playing time. The game ended in a draw, but the message was clear, Jesus is back.

Arsenal are set to meet City in Manchester on April 26th as the game will be a deciding one for each team. Jesus will be playing against his former club and will hope to score more goals than Haaland to secure Arsenal's top spot.

Additionally, Arsenal have the best defense in the league this season, as well as a young Aaron Ramsdale who managed to keep 12 clean sheets this season, 2 more than City's keeper, Ederson.
