The most creative players in the Premier League: Saka, Salah, De Bruyne

We’ve ranked the top 10 most creative players in the Premier League by key passes. 

10. Granit Xhaka 

Granit Xhaka has had quite the comeback at Arsenal as he is now a well-established part of their spine. 

The Swiss international has produced three assists from a total of 14 key passes this season for the Gunners. 

9. Bukayo Saka 

Bukayo Saka hasn’t quite been in sharp goalscoring form this season as he has only scored one goal in his opening seven matches, but his creative numbers have remained consistent. 

The 21-year-old has produced 14 key passes in total this season and has four assists to his name. 

8. Andreas Pereira 

Andreas Pereira was in need of regualr first team football after leaving Manchester United and that’s exactly what he’s got so far at Fulham. 

The Brazilian playmaker has already started to form a good relationship with Aleksandar Mitrovic as he has provided 14 key passes this season. 

The 26-year-old has a total of three goal contributions across his first seven matches for Fulham. 

7. James Ward-Prowse 

Last season James Ward-Prowse produced a total of 71 key passes and ended the year with five assists to his name. 

So far, he has made 16 key passes at a rate of 2.3 per game. If he carries on with his current trajectory, he will end the season with 87 key passes and surpass his tally from last season. 

6. Ilkay Gundogan 

Ilkay Gundogan is perhaps the most underrated player in the Man City squad and his creative numbers back up just how crucial he is to the side. 

The German midfielder has made 16 key passes and has assisted one goal so far this season. 

5. Harry Kane 

Spurs forward Harry Kane is the only out-and-out striker to appear on the list which is a representation of just how much he does for this Spurs side. 

He is currently their top goalscorer with six goals, whilst also being their most creative outlet. 

Kane has made a role for himself as he now enjoys dropping deep into midfield and springing counter attacks with his quick switches of play. 

The England skipper has made 16 key passes this season and has assisted one goal so far. 

4. Gabriel Martinelli 

Gabriel Martinelli has picked up from where he left off last season as he is now an established member of Arsenal’s first team. 

The Brazilian winger has started in all seven of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season and has made 16 key passes in total. 

3. Jack Harrison 

Leeds United had quite the summer transfer window and Jesse Marsch has done a good job with integrating all of the new stars. 

Despite the overhaul in the squad, Jack Harrison is still as important as ever in the way Leeds play. 

The winger has assisted three goals this season and has produced 18 key passes in his first six matches. 

2. Mohamed Salah 

Whilst Mohamed Salah hasn’t been at his best so far this season, his creative numbers cannot be called into question. 

The Egyptian winger has looked a little erratic in front of goal, but we have seen him playing in a slightly different role this season. 

Salah tends to occupy the wide areas more often than he previously did and as a result, his creative numbers have actually picked up. 

He has made 24 key passes and has two assists to show for it so far. 

1. Kevin De Bruyne 

When it comes to creativity, Kevin De Bruyne is always likely to come out on top. 

The Manchester City playmaker has already produced six assists from 25 key passes, more than any other Premier League player.
