The 11th placed Chelsea have not had the best of seasons so far, sitting with nearly half the points Arsenal piled up so far. Having lost 0-2 to Aston Villa, the Blues are in desperate need of points as winning becomes a must. 

Liverpool on the other hand are currently sitting in 8th place as we speak as they also have not had the best of seasons. The Reds suffered a heavy loss to Manchester City last weekend that ended 4-1, also desperate for a win over the week. 

Head-To-Head

Historically, Liverpool and Chelsea have had a long line of matches, with Liverpool taking the upper hand. Liverpool don’t seem to have suffered much against Chelsea throughout the years, winning 84 of the 193 matches, compared to Chelsea’s 65 wins.

More recently, in the last 5 matches between these two sides the result ended in draws - it’s funny enough to mention that Liverpool have never played more than 5 consecutive draws in their premier League history. 

Liverpool are also undefeated in their last 4 away games vs Chelsea in the Prem, but have never in the club’s history secured 5 of such matches. 

Prediction

Similarly to Tottenham, this Chelsea side is in the midst of a chaotic period due to the sacking of Graham Potter. The Blues will need to maintain good results to remain stable in the league and not fall further.

Liverpool have also gone through a tough season and are in a bit of a chaotic situation. Both teams stand on similar ground and could play out a draw in this matchup.
