Min-Jae Kim is nearing a transfer to Bayern Munich.
The Napoli star could be on his way to Germany, as reports suggest a closely imminent transfer.
Multiple media outlets and renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano report that the personal terms between the South Korean center-back and Bayern Munich are believed to be in place, so now it's just a matter of the clubs reaching an agreement on the transfer. Min-Jae Kim is said to have a release clause of around €60m that will become active from July, so Bayern will need to activate this amount if they want to secure the defender, as Napoli is unwilling to negotiate a lower price for his departure.
Min-Jae Kim joined Napoli in the summer of 2022 from Fenerbahce, and in just one season, he has developed into a prominent figure in Serie A. With impressive performances in the Champions League as well, several top clubs have taken notice of the 26-year-old defender. He possesses incredible physical strength, pace, and ball-playing abilities, and has been a commanding presence in Napoli's defense this season.
Min-Jae Kim in Serie A 2022/23:
Games: 35
Goals: 2
Assists: 2
Duels: 255
Duels success: 61.6%
Tackles: 55
Interceptions: 41
Blocks: 26
Clean sheets: 14
If the transfer becomes a reality, it will mark Kim Min-Jae's third club in three seasons: Fenerbahce (2021/22), Napoli (2022/23), and now Bayern Munich (2023/24). This sequence of moves highlights the tremendous development he has undergone. He achieved the ultimate success with Napoli last season by winning the Italian championship, a feat that led to widespread celebrations in southern Italy for several weeks. Now, it seems to be the perfect time for him to make the ultimate move to one of the top clubs in Europe. While Manchester United appeared to be a strong contender for his signature, it now appears that Bayern Munich is poised to outpace all competitors and secure the signing of Min-Jae Kim soon.
