Is it Joao Felix's last chance in Barcelona?

Is it Joao Felix's last chance in Barcelona?
Felix has struggled to fulfill his great talent in recent seasons.

There were high expectations for Joao Felix when he was brought to Atletico Madrid from Benfica in a record deal of €127.20 million in 2019, where he was hailed as one of the biggest talents in the world. His time at Atletico has been inconsistent, with glimpses of his qualities, but it hasn't been the definitive breakthrough that was hoped for. In the last half of the season, he was loaned out to Chelsea in the hope that he would find success there and return with confidence or with a potential sale to Chelsea in mind.

Joao Felix's time at Chelsea also didn't turn out to be a major success, so he returned to Atletico Madrid in the summer, where the prospect of playing time had become even more challenging. With Antoine Griezmann, Memphis Depay, and Alvaro Morata, Felix suddenly found himself as the fourth choice in the attacking lineup, and it didn't appear that he was part of Diego Simeone's plans. Hence, they have now chosen to loan him to FC Barcelona. Before doing this, they extended his contract, so if he succeeds at Barcelona, he can either come back and shine at Atletico Madrid or his value will have increased due to the longer contract if a sale becomes a possibility.

When a young player is hailed as one of the biggest talents, it often comes with pressure, and Joao Felix has not fully lived up to it yet. The move to Barcelona is nearing his last chance to show the world what a top-class player he is, and in terms of playing style, Barcelona and Felix seem like a good match.
