Chelsea confirms the signing of Christopher Nkunku
As expected, the RB Leipzig player is set to become a new Chelsea player for the next six years.
There you have it, Nkunku is indeed a new Chelsea player as he has signed a 6-year contract that binds him to the London club until June 2029. The transfer fee is rumored to be around €60 million to RB Leipzig. There have been rumors about Nkunku's move to Chelsea for a while, but neither of the clubs has officially announced anything. However, now the Frenchman's dream transfer has become a reality, and he is ready to further develop as a football player.
The joy is worth feeling in relation to Nkunku's statement about the transfer: "I am incredibly happy — a big effort was made to bring me to the club. I want to show Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch."
Nkunku has been RB Leipzig's major standout player in the last couple of seasons, and this year, despite being sidelined with an injury for a significant part of the season, he finishes as a joint top scorer in the Bundesliga. In the previous season, he was also in top form, which is when rumors about the move to Chelsea started swirling.

At 25 years old, Nkunku still has plenty of room for further development. He is versatile and can be used on the wing as well as a striker. His speed and goal-scoring ability showcased at Leipzig and the French national team make him a modern forward. Chelsea is aiming to regain their normal level, and many Chelsea fans now hope that Nkunku can be the goal-scoring attacker they have been missing. There are indications that their current forward, Kai Havertz, might be making a move to rivals Arsenal.
