Champions League: Manchester City vs. RB Leipzig
Who will advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League? Manchester City take on RB Leipzig with a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
After 1-1 in the first leg in Germany, things must be decided at Etihad on who will go through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. In a relatively even match, the great talent Josko Gvardiol secured a draw for RB Leipzig, a result which on paper is approved but in reality, Leipzig are huge underdogs in the second match.
The last time the two teams met in a Champions League match was in 2021 when they were in a group together, with Leipzig winning their home match 2-1 while Manchester City won 6-3 at home at the Etihad, so much suggests that we can expect a goal-rich match tonight.

Team news
With Phil Foden back in this weekend's game against Crystal Palace, it looks like Pep Guardiola has all men ready for tonight's game. Pep has rotated between his players this season, at the weekend Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker started out, so it is difficult to predict a City line-up, as you never know what Pep will come up with.
De Bruyne has started outside several times this season, whether it is a sign of saving De Bruyne or whether it is poor performance is difficult to assess, but he is expected to start inside against Leipzig.
Manchester City expected lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Dias, Ake; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish
Nkunku has been injured again and is together with Xaver Schlager, Peter Gulacsi and Abdou Diallo on the sideline for this match.
In relation to the weekend's 3.0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach, Marcel Halstenberg is only expected to replace David Raum at left back due to routine.
RB Leipzig expected lineup:
Blaswich; Henrichs, Orban, Gvardiol, Halstenberg; Laimer, Haidara; Szoboszlai, Forsberg, Werner; Silva
Key stats for the game
- Man City have won their latest 9 home games against Germans opponents
- RB Leipzig have lost their latest 3 away games against English sides
- Leipzig has a 5 unbeaten run in UEFA Champions League
Player profile
Riyad Mahrez is having a fantastic season, the 32-year-old attacking player has scored 12 goals and made 6 assists in all competitions this season.
In the Champions League he has 3 goals and 1 assist and in the first match against Leipzig he was the best playing Man City player.
No doubt that the defense will be decisive for Leipzig in today's game, but we think they will have to score if they want to progress. We therefore believe that Timo Werner will be important in the counterplay for Leipzig, and if Leipzig is to have a chance, he can be the man who comes into focus.
Prediction
We believe in a goal-rich match with Manchester City as the winner, we therefore suggest Manchester City to win and over 3.5 goals
