The top 10 most fouled Premier League players this season: Grealish, Zaha, Saka

Jack Grealish
Drawing fouls from defenders is a particular skill and we’ve dived into the stats to find out who the top 10 most fouled Premier League players have been this season.

10. Jack Grealish

Last season Jack Grealish was the most fouled player in the Premier League, with 110 fouls committed against him.

His fluid dribbling style often leaves defenders with little choice but to bring him down and this season he has been fouled 53 times.

If you factor in his game time, Grealish still ranks as one of the most fouled players on today’s list with an average of 2.6 fouls per 90.

9. James Maddison

Leicester's James Maddison has already managed to match his goal output of eight from last season and he has been a tricky player to contain all season.

Maddison has drawn 54 fouls this season, more than any other player in the Leicester squad.

8. Conor Gallagher

After the season he has had, you would think Conor Gallagher would be in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for next season.

He has shown he has an eye for goal this season with eight strikes in the Premier League and he is also capable of drawing fouls.

Gallagher has been fouled 56 times in his first full Premier League season.

7. Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka has gone from strength to strength this season as he has already doubled his goals and assists from last season.

Arsenal’s top goalscorer has drawn 56 fouls in total, which is considerably more than anyone else in the Arsenal squad.

6. Anthony Gordon

Everton haven’t had many highlights in what has turned out to be a miserable season for them, but Anthony Gordon has certainly been one of them.

The dynamic winger has been fouled 59 times, with an average of 2.6 per 90.

5. Richarlison

Making into the list as Everton’s second entry, Richarlison is one of the best players in the league at drawing fouls from defenders.

Since the Brazilian arrived in the Premier League, he has been fouled 377 times, with 64 of those fouls coming this season.

4. Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew is Crystal Palace’s second entry onto today’s list as the Ghanaian striker has been fouled 65 times in total.

On average, Ayew has been fouled 2.2 times per 90 this season which ranks him as the fourth most fouled player in the Premier League.

3. John McGinn

Aston Villa’s John McGinn has been fouled more than any other central midfielder this season as the Scotsman has drawn 68 fouls in total.

McGinn also ranks sixth in the Premier League for fouls committed with 50 this campaign.

2. Ivan Toney

Considering this is Ivan Toney’s first full season in the Premier League, he has done well to chip in with 12 goals and five assists as Brentford look set for survival.

Toney has been fouled 76 times in total, averaging 2.5 per 90.

The Brentford striker certainly isn’t shy of committing a foul himself as only Christian Nørgaard has committed more fouls in the Brentford squad than Toney has with 45 fouls.

1. Wilfried Zaha

Claiming the crown as the most fouled Premier League player this season, we have Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Crystal Place have been the second most fouled side this season, behind Aston Villa with 441 fouls against them.

Zaha himself has been fouled 91 times this season, with an average of 3.3 per 90.

The winger usually is amongst the most fouled players in the league and in three of his eight seasons with Palace in the Premier League he has managed to accumulate over 100 fouls against him.

Back in February, Zaha ranked as the most fouled player from across Europe and it’s looking like he’ll claim the number one spot in the Premier League this season.
