Casper Ruud is out of Wimbledon.
Very surprisingly, wild-card player Liam Broady knocked out the Norwegian favorite.
Already in the second round, the fourth-seeded Norwegian had to exit Wimbledon as he was defeated by wild-card player Liam Broady after 5 sets. Ruud is known for being strongest on clay, but expectations were high for the Norwegian following a recent finals appearance in the French Open and strong results that have secured him the 4th position in the world rankings.
Liam Broady won on home soil in front of a crowd that was truly cheering for their compatriot, and after 5 sets of 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0, the surprise became a reality, and the celebration erupted.
With that, the first major favorite is out of this year's Wimbledon tournament.
