The Legend of Mikkel Hansen

The Legend of Mikkel Hansen
Mikkel Hansen has been a top player in the handball world - here's a rundown of his career

Mikkel Hansen is a Danish handball player widely regarded as one of the best players in the world. Born on October 22, 1987, in Helsingør, Denmark, Hansen has had a decorated career, both at the club and international level.

Hansen started his professional career at the Danish club, GOG, where he played from 2005 to 2008. During his time there, he won the Danish Handball League twice and was named the league's best player in his last year.

After a small two year stint at FC Barcelona’s handball team, Hansen moved to Copenhagen to play for AG København, where he won the Danish Handball League once and the Danish Handball Cup twice. He also won the EHF Champions League in 2012 with AGK, where he was named the tournament's best player.

In 2012, Hansen signed with the French club, Paris Saint-Germain Handball, where he has played since. He has won the French Handball League six times, the French Handball Cup seven times, and the French League Cup five times with PSG. In addition, Hansen has won the EHF Champions League twice with PSG, in 2017 and 2018, where he was named the tournament's best player both times.

Hansen's success isn't limited to his club career, as he has also been an integral part of the Danish national team. He won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He has also won the gold medal at the European Handball Championship twice, in 2012 and 2014, and the gold medal at the World Handball Championship once, in 2019.

Hansen is known for his versatility, as he can play both as a left back and a center back. He is also known for his powerful shot and his ability to score from any position on the court. His contributions to the sport have earned him numerous accolades, including being named the IHF World Player of the Year in 2011, 2015, and 2018.

In conclusion, Mikkel Hansen is a handball legend who has achieved tremendous success at both the club and international levels. His impressive list of titles and awards is a testament to his incredible talent and dedication to the sport.
