Gordon Hayward has been traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Hayward is saying goodbye to the Hornets and will now wear the Thunder jersey.

Small forward Gordon Hayward can now be called an Oklahoman as he is part of a trade between the Thunder and the Hornets. In exchange for Hayward, the Hornets receive:

◉ Vasilije Micic
◉ Tre Mann
◉ Davis Bertans
◉ 2024 second-round draft pick (via Houston)
◉ 2025 second-round draft pick (via Philadelphia)
◉ Cash considerations

Gordon Hayward has been plagued by injuries this season, participating in only half of the Charlotte Hornets' games, resulting in personal statistics below his usual levels from previous seasons. Hayward has not been brought to Oklahoma to start but rather to provide relief for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey when they need rest. Given Oklahoma's current playing style, it will be challenging to alter the starting lineup unless there are injuries.

With averages of 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists this season, which are respectable stats considering he has been dealing with injuries, Hayward brings solid contributions to the table. The Thunder are acquiring a player with significant experience and the quality and stability to perform well when given the opportunity.

Gordon Hayward career stats:
◉ 809 games
◉ 4.5 REB
◉ 3.6 AST
◉ 15.5 PTS

Gordon Hayward is a former All-Star player, having earned the accolade in the 2016/17 season when he played for the Utah Jazz.
